Do You Love Your Job?

If you take a moment to stop and think about your job and ask yourself if you really love what you are doing, you may have to think about whether you really are happy or not. When we get in to a routine and get up each morning and head to work it’s difficult to think about making a change. The truth is, people change jobs or careers for many different reasons. Sometimes they are just bored doing the same thing. Sometimes people feel they would like to transition in a different direction. Whatever the reason people do make changes so it is good to know that change is possible. The first step in making a change, however, is to think about what you really love to do. Ask yourself what you would love to do even if you weren’t being paid to do it.
What are your strengths?
What do you really do best?
What have your friends and family said you would be great at?
If you aren’t quite sure about what you would like to do, I can help you with exploring career possibilities that will lead you in a new direction that you hadn’t thought of before. Once you decide what direction you would like to go social media sites such as LinkedIn and Facebook can be valuable. If you are looking to start your own business, organizations such as the Small Business Development Center can be very helpful. I can be a guide and provide information and support each step along the way. So whether you are early on in your career. at mid-life looking to reinvent yourself, now is the time to do what you love!
How Can a Life/Career Coach Help My Student?
As a Life and Career Coach, I can help students to build skills that will carry over through their entire academic career. These skills include:
organization
time management
study skills
admission essays
college hunting
scholarship/funding opportunities
interest/majors
Sometimes when parents try to help their children they reach a point where they say, “my child just won’t listen to me anymore. I have been trying to work with them but they just aren’t hearing what I am saying. I am feeling very frustrated.”
You are not alone. It is hard to teach your own child and this is where a Career Coach can help in a situation like this. Students usually respond better to a Career Coach than to the parent when it comes to study habits, writing essays, or applying for colleges. When students are working with a Career Coach, usually the relationship between the child and parent improves because the stress is removed from the situation.
I specialize in helping students stay motivated in school and improve their academic skills. The earlier students begin to build skills the better. These skills will last a lifetime and help them to be better students well into college.
